Seventeen

Conlusion or Confusion?

My dreams shattered over and over again

No matter how small they were, god damn…

No matter what I tried

Nothing went right

Now I´m stuck with only my mind

And oh boy, my mind isn´t right

But let´s put that aside

I´m seventeen and my only dream

Is to be seen

Not by the world, but by the people around me

I´m lost and no one has found me

Seventeen years on this earth and still no dream to fulfill

Seventeen months in which my life goes down hill

Seventeen weeks full of sorrow

“Seventeen days” said Prince but I´m not even sure about tomorrow

Seventeen seconds to break a heart…

No wait only takes 1 second to fall apart

I really enjoyed this. I can relate to it. I love the countdown of years, months, weeks, days, seconds... The rhyming makes the poem for me.

i like the last line 17 seconds to fall apart... it shows so much sadness but then it is what makes life a challenge.. how much time does a person need to bounce back after falling apart... i can relate to this too well. thanks my friend
