It just came bursting out of me.

We stand on the border of it

Aloof, concurrently in and out of it

We can move neither in nor on, here

We’re doomed to neither see nor hear

 

Dark is the night; your candles aren’t lit

Perhaps, for that, I’d hate you a little bit

Hate me, and everything else, my dear

It isn’t hate, but love that I fear

I am really surprised that no one has commented on this piece just yet, it really stands out well and is unique in so many ways. The style is simple paired with the abnormal vocabulary in the first stanza was a great choice. I love how honest you are in this piece, especially in the last line (I also like the way you tied that back to the title).

The last line is where the heart spoke; the rest was written out of a "blue" unconsciousness. Genuineness is the echo of red beating pieces outspoken by shrieking nerves that I had to hush with words. Thank you Chris for having heard. That was a cry, ay !
