Dear Dorothy

Dear Dorothy

Poor Dorothy lost in time
Amid the crazy Land of Oz
All in all it seemed sublime
Until you gave her cause

Her wickedness came without a doubt
Sticking her nose in the way
As if you didn’t have enough to worry about
On that fine summer day

You rode the house that squished her sis
It really wasn’t your fault
And Glenda, she just had to insist
You wear that which she would exalt

Those tacky things so ruby red
Somehow ‘poofed’ on your feet
And it was then they made your bed
Setting you up for defeat

So now you must go see the old man
And follow a silly yellow road
With the witch on your can
Like a wart on a toad

As for help along the way
Gee, thanks so much for that
A dope made of hay
A rusty pile and a p***y cat

So after you’ve returned home
Begin to recount your tale
Of the strange places you did roam
After that twisting gale

But be careful of what you share
Of witches and winged monkey thugs
Else your audience sits and stares
Thinking you must be on drugs
