confession

A Poem by Midnyte
"

..he may never know..

"

we could run away…

even if only for a little while.

to see life through your eyes

and seek solace upon the skyline

maybe dance upon the rolling thunder

to get lost within the eyes of lightning

as the storm rolls in and envelops us.

betray not the whispers of fantasy

entwined in our own reality of just being

tracing patterns into the night’s tears

that sing of cynical truth and harbored emotion

but to never release the dreams

where I hold you safe torn apart by the sun.

subliminal message between the lines

more peripheral than literal in its own sense

to contradict the senses and fray the perfect edge.

Never let them know we have bonded

a secret more delicious than a ripe peach

something more precious than a cryptic jade

but I swear unto you a thousand kisses

until I feel the breath upon my neck

as we sleep beneath the constellations

this piece jus proves that rhyming is not important for a poem holding beautiful meaning between its lines. loved it. especially the last line
