OUT OF THE DARKNESS

OUT OF THE DARKNESS

A Poem by Resa

Out of the darkness grows,
The fleeting flight of chance.
The courage to emerge once more,
And take the hand of loves final dance.

Once more she’ll dream ,of hearts so true.
Knowing all the while, she will be let down again
By the confusing insanity that swells within you.
It overflows , it spills along her hopeful path, becoming a wave,
Pulling her down,
She drowns in that darkness.
As she has in the past.
Perhaps one day, again she’ll rise.
Until then, her broken heart sleeps,
As she closes her weary eyes at
Last.

It seems that this is a hopeful poem because of the final lines. To close one's eyes in weariness can mean a deep, fruitful rest after the "confusing insanity."

i identify on the other side of this...and yet again, even professing that i will never go down that route again...try one more dance...thinking this partner will stay.

Coincidentally, I found this poem today, Resa. And I thought of you.
It's Called "The Room", and it was written by Australian poet, Kevin Hart.

It is my house, and yet one room is locked.
The dark has taken root on all four walls.
It is a room where knots stare out from wood,
A room that turns its back on the whole house.

At night I hear the crickets list their griefs
And let an ancient peace come into me.
Sleep intercepts my prayer, and in the dark
The house turns slowly round its one closed room.

death is inevitable but then in one way or another it is just the beginning of life

The feeling seems like quicksand... it just doesn't want to give you a break, huh.?

I was liking the rhyme scheme -- what seemed to be a rhyme scheme in the beginning. And then the lines sorta, seemed, kinda, well ...gave up on that idea. Was that intentionally done to underscore the feeling? ...

Unfortunately it was not intentional.
I haven’t written in a while, trying to get my groove.. read more
