Just giving up on ourselves

Just giving up on ourselves

A Poem by Midnight_Mask

They don’t know what’s on the inside

When the world is at a pause

Feeling like there’s no tomorrow

Because tomorrow has no cause

And you can never wear a smile

When your mouth is at its full

They don’t know what’s on the inside

They never know at all

Because they Judge with their laughs

And their thoughts never last

Pointing and poking at the flesh of a mask

They never bother covering their laughs

As their jokes will soon pass

Bringing in a burning hear of a mask

But it hurts, like lies

With their smiles

In their eyes

Looks of betrayal of a nation gone wrong

Everyone’s point but blaming no-one

Fighting a system is too much for one song

Even if we’re humming and chanting for a chance

Holding our lighters high in hope of a stand

But with a silent chill, no-one knows

I wish at one moment

I can be true to myself

I’m just giving up

I’m just giving up

I wish that at one moment

Before our eyes

We can change our lives

We can change their lives

Originally it's suppose to be a song, so it may be a bit out of place in places, but thanks for reading :)
