I'm Here and Still DreamingA Poem by Midnight_MaskMy life is like the cliffs standing along the shore, Continuously getting beaten down by the sea, Like daunting memories haunting me. I may look strong and bold, Defending your lives from the lashes of pain, I stand here to protect you guys all day. But it’s not like it don’t hurt, Slowly I’m being worn away and my defences will break down. So after that happens, will you guys still be around? Or will you go and find some other protection, Leave me alone to drown in the rejection. As I see my last shields fade, I must have hoped that for one day; I’ll be able to have love like how I give freely. Just because I’m a rock, It doesn’t mean I’ve suffocated and not breathing, That my heart shattered and stopped beating, Because I’m here and still dreaming. © 2010 Midnight_MaskAuthor's Note
