Real Life & Fake Dreams

Real Life & Fake Dreams

A Poem by Midnight_Mask
"

Someone asked me to write something happy and I never thought I could do it and so I thought to the reasons why not, this is what came to mind:

"
You request me to capture your smile,
As the sweet comfort of sun light caress it warm,
Bringing out your full lush lips;
The divine redness of such a rose is born with.
And yet, it's not real to me,
Seeming more like a vague fantasy
Rather then a pleasant memory.

I carry lies in what I speak,
Believing earnestly it's true,
We all do.
And for there to be such radiant happiness to survive;
be real,
Then why can't I take out your requests:
To capture your smile.

Inside I watch,
As the world about me seems to run away.
Unable to discharge this emptiness inside,
That's apart of me;
A void of being lost and lonely.
Sick to be confused
And striving for the answers,
But always appearing out of reach.

I can't accept life as being real,
In doing so,
I be discrediting my dreams being fake.
