My Dreams

My Dreams

A Poem by Midnight_Mask

I want to surrender to my dreams,
Be taken by the feelings,
step inside myself,
let go of my breath.
What does it take to be free?
Become overjoyed with bliss and secret greed,
Never look at those dreadful memories,
Head held high,
escape into the long nights.

As the city dreams,
On the last day of the week,
bathing in blessing light,
Burning the pavement.
Walking London's streets,
Abandoned.

Up scorching roads,
 and down alleyways alone.
Godly breeze brush our faces,
People hide in the strangest of places,
In pubs and staring out windows,
sitting on door steps and driving solo.
Our nation is united,
Millions of shades of white and some red,
From sunbathing as we rest.

But all have the same faces,
disappointment mixed with a smile,
We may have been beaten,
This time it may be through,
But next time,
Next time we will beat you all.

Three Lions for the win,
We will have our two stars.
