Is this my last choice?

Is this my last choice?

A Poem by Midnight_Mask

If I had the strength to wish away my fears,
To fight the demons from my life,
Stand up for my own right.

I'll draw my sword and stand up tall,
Slice the black hounds that bite and chew,
They push me back ever so slowly,
Closer to the cliff I realise I might fall.

Is it the pit inside my head?
That drowns my screaming,
And my streaming tears?
I swear I'll fight my fears.

If I had the chance to turn back time,
To erase my memories and make them right,
Lay down my rules to prove my might.

I'll sheath my sword and follow a divine new road,
Avoid the mistakes, keeping to the shadows,
But soon I'll slip up and double over,
I've learned from my past, that's how I stay sober.

Is this my last choice?
Do I have nothing else to scream,
Cry about and allow myself to bleed?
I swear I'll learn from my past.
