Divine Race

Divine Race

A Poem by Midnight_Mask

I've walked this broken road before,
Lined with disappointed smiles and forged lives,
How we've tried to fight the purge,
Only ending up in denial.

At first we were beckoned upon those with open arms,
Now we sit here in the dirt,
Tearing at the cracked earth,
Because we have been replaced;
No longer the divine race.

Remember us while you march on,
Eating well and sleeping long,
Happily singing your siren songs.

We'll remember you as you was,
The sun to our souls because,
You were the only reason for us to sing;
Even if the song was not your favorite one.
