The OceanA Poem by Bod Owens
Breaking through the crashing waves, he caries on,
pushing and pushing, he surges forward. The vessel sways from side to side, but still, she remains true. For hours he holds her steady, but alas, the waves are relentless and he is growing weary of this game. There is nothing left to be done, the ship and her captain, brought to their breaking points. Accepting what is to come, he steps outside. There, he sees it, his death in the form of a monstrous wave approaches. He tries to speak but cannot seem to find the words. The sailor is quickly overcome, this felling, this feeling of fear is new. He wants to move, but is paralyzed, he can only watch. © 2015 Bod OwensAuthor's Note
