Stolen

This is a sensitive topic--a young girl's stolen innocence.

The sun rises above the horizon,

Another lonely night has passed.

And all the memories disappear,

Of the innocence stolen so fast.

 

Just because you couldn't argue,

Couldn't make out the words.

Didn't mean he had the right,

To take what's simply yours.

 

Just a young girl at the time,

Didn't have a clue of the cold.

Never thought the love of your life,

Would leave you so desperately alone.

 

Even now he's sorely missed,

A hole in your delicate heart.

With everything he stole from you,

You love him with the leftover parts.

 

The sun will rise again,

The Earth won't cease to turn.

And so, my dear, I only pray,

That time can heal this hurt.

I couldn't imagine what would go through someone's mind that would have to face this fear head on. I'm no expert by any means, but I believe you encapsulated a very tramatic and emotionally draining event in just a few short verses and you did it well.
