Cry For NormanA Poem by CookieA sad poem I wrote because a friend suggested I try to write from a strange point of view. So, I chose to write from the point of view of a tree.Steady and forever in the middle of the town, Standing tall through wind, rain, drought. Leaves turn from green to red each fall, But in spring they're back, you're still tall. Watching people go by, and everything they do, Wanting to talk to them, to be loved, too. But nothing you say makes them understand, That you wish to be like them, hold their hand. You get bigger and bigger watching time go by, And you feel human in that you want to cry. You're starting to get old, and weak, They start to think your limbs may break. So they come to take you away, But someone comes and starts to say, That even if you're getting old, You're a part of this place, though alone. But you've stood alone for quite a while, Watching them laugh, watching them smile. They mean more than anything to you, Yet the people don't notice you've been so true. And you still care out of love that'll never die, No matter if they let you stay, or to die. Many tears you've seen all of them cry, You know all about their lives. The things that made them strong, Is what makes you belong. Because you've stood and shown them love, When they were feeling alone. And even if they take you away, In their hearts you'll forever stay. © 2013 CookieReviews
