Twin Granddaughter's

An ode to my twin granddaughters and of course my first granddaughter gets a mention too ;-)

Getting to know you both
has been a wonder
identical features
hard to tell apart
but personalities so different

being able to hold
each of you close
after so long
beautiful
to snuggle
to get a smile
one magical moment
a chuckle
a gurgle
a coo
that unblinking baby stare
that look that we share
when you drink your bottle

never will we get back those months that we missed
but my beautiful granddaughters all
be assured
Nanny loves you dearly
you rest deep in my heart
forever and always

Can't wait to see
you all soon

You strongly convey a feeling I get all the time from g-parents on social media: IT'S SO HARD to be far from one's g-kids!!!! The way you practically gobble up your granddaughters, we can feel your hunger to be with them, to take them into your very being for safekeeping. Top-notch palpable details!!! I'm not into kids or babies (never had or wanted any) . . . so it's really something to capture my attention with a poem like this (((HUGS)))

Identical twins are amazing. I have these nephews who are Identical and every time I see them it's like looking at a mirror broken in half down the middle. I literally have to blink several times to adjust to the oddness. There are very few differences in them. One is much more sensitive then the other, more shy, and quiet. One is left handed while the other right. One has a small dot of a birthmark on the back of the neck. But besides these little things the are exactly the same. And both are evil. Because they are in their tweens age haha. So mischievous and sneaky by nature. Thank you for sharing your poem on your twin grandchildren. It was very sweet.
