Storm CloudsA Poem by Lisa CPoem with a chuckleAs the storm clouds gather we walk the lonely shore trudging along ,dragging our feet inches apart, feeling much more I stumble and you reach out to catch me but quickly draw away when I steady myself the gulf ever widening between us glancing around the darkening landscape gloomy and dangerous thoughts try to take over my melancholic mind matching the scene in front of my eyes, a sudden gust of wind caught me unaware launching my hat high in the air I watched it twist and turn flying free like a beautiful bird moving skyward ,then falling downward like a pretty coloured feather a giggle caught me unware followed by a chuckle as the wind let go and dumped it out at sea then it began to rain not a gentle trickle, or a light sprinkle but a deluge, a torrent, as the clouds burst and emptied on our heads caught up in the scene both laughing, caught unaware holding each other as the laughter overtook us ,we looked into each others eyes anguish and worry forgotten and forgiven as we turned and walked towards home hand in hand smiling happily at each other. © L Conway 2021 © 2021 Lisa CFeatured Review
