A Dreamer I can Be

A Dreamer I can Be

A Poem by Midge Marie

I wanted to be a poet, but I couldn't find the rhyme.

I wanted to be a writer, but couldn't find the time.

I wanted to be a lover, but no one would love me to the end.

I wanted to marry, but I was always just the friend.

I wanted to be a mother, but I never had a lover.

I wanted to see the world, but I was too poor.

I wanted to be an acrobat, but I kept falling on the floor.

I wanted to stay young forever, but my body aged through my many endeavors.

I wanted to become a star, but that hope was to far.

So, for now I shall dream, a dreamer I can be.
