My Bond

My Bond

A Poem by Middling
"

A sonnet

"
Be advised, my passport’s green
No glass of ours was ever raised to the queen,
Never will this change no matter
Where I’ve gone or been
There are no gaps between to be sought or seen
For my love is so pure and keen,
Like a white dove so white and free
For there are no ifs, maybes or mights
This is my bond, these are my genes.
Now and time to be wherever green is worn
To the ground my head will lean
So that to all my gesture may be seen
The land I can never repay
For the gift I have this day and forever.

Irish pride in very elegant words... Very patriotic with all the references to "green".... Especially the first two lines are very striking and powerful....
"Be advised, my passport’s green
No glass of ours was ever raised to the queen"
A very nice write.

Very nice writing and your national pride comes through strong and clear. An outsider like me isn't going to feel what you feel, but I can easily recognise your sincere passion.
