![]() One DayA Poem by Middling
One day,
That seemed to last forever Never to be Repeated again. It seemed so far away A long off distant day, A lifetime gone by So quickly and so fun Of joy and of strife, Bruised pride and confidence won The circle of life Has indeed come full circle. Friends so dear and sincere Today at least it all seemed so clear, Friends of this life, Not to be seen in the next After all those lines of text. We were born together into this new world And now we leave it forever, together. We have made our legacy And now goodbye must be finally bade, As our memories gradually fade Into the mortar and the plaid. Ivy pinned against a wall Lead by the gardeners hand We listened to his call And flourished on the land. Tutors lost but friends gained No true emotions feigned, This is the end, Little can any spell or potion Make this truth bend. This is the end But yet still a beginning, No wounds to tend No wagers to bet All now is set. We must start anew again And go where we know so few But remember those that we knew. A never ending road Lies spread about before us Partners to be wed, families to be fed, And great may be this load But we must remember what we were told. © 2010 MiddlingReviews
