Beautiful Blue

There's a haze around my eyes

As you walk towards me,

A new light that pulls me.

You are the sun, love

And I am the flower

Growing, winding

Reaching ever for you.

And then I am falling

Plunging into a crystal, blue pool

And you are there too

Looking at me,

Looking at you,

With those eyes I always sought

To be the apple of.

The water surrounds us now

But your lips give me air,

Your kiss brings me life

And for once in all my years on this earth

I am not afraid.

I am in your arms,

And you make me beautiful

You are beautiful.

But the current tears you away

While I stare after you,

All the words I longed to say

Dying forever on my tongue.

As I open my eyes

To dull, yellow walls

My dreams are stolen from me

In the harsh sunlight of reality.

"Looking at me/ Looking at you" I love the imagery there. It makes me think of a mirror and the thoughts I used to have about a future with someone I hadn't met yet. good job :)

Nice. I like how at first the metaphor of the sunlight is growing you like a flower and then it becomes harsh and dull yellow. Thanks for sharing.
