Girl in the Mirror

There's girl in my mirror

I watch her at times

With her hair, dark waves

And the purest blue eyes

She stays in her room

In her own little world

Locked away by a curse

My lovely, sad eyed girl

Her song is like an angel

Soulful and true

Its the only joy she has

For what else can she do?

At times I'll get close

Placing my hand on the glass

Cursing our divider

Assuring her curse will last

But one day she looked up

And I think she saw me to

So just in case I was all she had

I whispered "I love you"

I really like this, I like how your words painted a picture. I could see the sad girl, looking lost and alone with no one else around. I really have nothing else to say, it was really good though.

So so so....breath-taking. It's such a common form of expressionism or at least common enough in the society I see around me these days. Being locked in a world of hate or despair and waiting for that one special one to free them. It is right up my alley. Thank you for sharing this inspired piece.

Girls trapped in mirrors is not a rare concept, and is rather common among the concepts many teenagers would use to describe a form of self-hatred. Rarer than these aspects is the fact that you omit not only despise, but among it a certain confidence; thus, the ending. Simple words, and a powerful impact on the reader; and I assume to you as well. You should be proud of this poem.
