Back into the Abyss

I don't know who I'm looking at anymore

Where are all your smiles, where's the warmth?

Tell me, was it all a big lie?

Because this face I'm staring at,

Once vibrant and full of life,

Is now but a blank mask,

Distant and cold,

Reflecting what I now see

Is your true soul

You treated me like a Princess

Even a I hated myself

Till I believed I was worth something to you

Then came this season of hell

Once up in the stars

Then down down down I fell

And you just stared at me with apathy

As I crumpled, my face in the dirt

Hearing the cruel world laugh at me

And now I'm back

Back to where I used to be

The dark pit I called my home

With these old, familiar shadows beckoning me

Their cold hands around my neck 

Constricting, choking, killing me

And I just sigh, sickly content

As the pain numbs me

Relaxing into this haunting abyss

Ah how I've missed this
