GoodnightA Poem by Lost in Wonderland
Eyes bright, staring up at the night sky
Reflecting the majestic star light Grass tickles her bare legs and cheeks As she lays there, serene and smiling, At peace in the evening breeze She closes her eyes And watches the world go by People smoking on there way to work Making them want to cringe And crawl six feet under the dirt She sees the dismal, grey atmosphere Hears children crying out in fear The world so broken, she once called home Now she lays, in her secret world all alone Preparing to leave everything behind and go Into wondrous dimensions unknown Blood slipping down her wrist like a steady red stream, She stands, finally done with her tiresome dance Wishing now to fall asleep into a new found dream Her dress pools at her feet, the weight of the world finally lifted As she steps into the pond, giggling at the ripples Water replaces her air, bubbles begin to fly She closes her eyes on this last whimsical sight Wishing the world, forever a goodnight
