Ode to an AngelA Poem by Lost in WonderlandEverything came crashing down When I thought the war was done And maybe the light had fully won I too soon learned that the enemy Still had his claws ready to strike Wrapping them around my feeble neck Making me suffocate Not able to vent my many woes
So I bent down and prayed "God please, God please Send someone to help me!" So Father broke the enemy's grip Leaving me gasping for breath Needing to speak Lest I die from my own pain
Then He sent me you And all my carefully composed (yet equally broken) pieces Scattered at your feet As I cried to you Vulnerable and weak And..you actually wanted to help me You wanted to hear me To tell me God'll heal me And you'll never ever leave... Do you know how much that means? To have someone truly care? It lightens the load Just enough to help me go on
You make me laugh At our shared madness And imaginary adventures That we go on Even through miles of distance You make me cry When you tell me I'm strong When you tell me I'm beautiful To die for even It's crazy to hear that...for me
You're more than a friend You're a brother A guardian angel I love you so much Thank you for all you've done © 2012 Lost in WonderlandAuthor's Note
