Social MediaA Poem by Mick BurkeA poem about posting.A man and a woman, many years wed, Who for all of that time have shared the same bed. Yet when one wants to wish the other good luck, They pick up their phone and post to Facebook. Why not turn around in the bed and just say, “I wish you the best on this, your big day”?
And is it just me who finds it quite rude, When your dinner companion takes pics of their food, Then instantly posts them for global display, And spends the meal checking what their friends have to say? Of course, tell your friends if you have a nice meal, but would waiting for later be such a big deal.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm not averse, To posting on Facebook or the whole Twitterverse. Social media connects us to people who may, Not be in the circle we see every day. These sites have a place, I use them a lot, But real interaction with people they're not!
