A Forest Found MeA Poem by Mekki AmelA forest found me, Dazed and lying on the ground, It found me, I saw, but heard no sound. Cold gripped me tighter, And ice crystals formed from leaves, Fear gripped me tighter, But all I felt was peace. Black swirls formed in the sky, Stars fell down near my face, Blue and white swirls joined the sky, Creating looks as intricate as lace. I thought I was alone Until a red deer peered out, It thought it was alone, Until it found me out. We walked closer but stopped, Arrows hit their marks, We moved closer but stopped, Arrows pierced our hearts. But we flew. You were sure we’d have fallen, But we knew. Onwards to the rising sun, Who looked like crystal and power, Together to the rising sun, Watched atop a tower. But atop was where I froze, The shadows found me out. The top was where I froze, The forest cut me out. But where they left me was the sea, Where I could just sit and be, I was left in the sea, To experience other company. © 2010 Mekki AmelReviews
