Introspection

Introspection

A Poem by Bryan Micheni

See the stars as shattered sunsets;
Eyes just holes in front of head;
Conscience, show of hopeless treason;
Logic as lovers' demise...
Sweetened pills of introspection
Lay these weary hearts to sleep,
And in wordless profligation
Never wake from Morpheus' arms.
Kill the hopeless and abandoned
Take the valour from the brave,
And in dark, find lasting solace
In the emptiness within.

Your work always stands out to me...the diction is always so top notch but never interferes with the natural flow of the piece or the complete communication of your message...that my friend keeps your pieces so fresh and exciting :D

Liked this part:
"Never wake from Morpheus' arms.
Kill the hopeless and abandoned
Take the valour from the brave,
And in dark, find lasting solace
In the emptiness within."

Powerful words from a good poet.

Very interesting write, I especially enjoyed the last five stanzas. The mirror is a very humbling and truthful place, you brought just those emotions into a short write. And for that I tip my hat to you.

Wow. This short poem has so much power and emotions. Does remind me of the power introspection can have on your mind and soul.

You show a great use for vocabulary. It's nice to see that from people, as nobody seems to understand how beautiful words can be, and prefer to keep it simple. Simple is nice, don't get me wrong, but using solid words is something I prefer.
Thank you for sharing this lovely piece with me!

Oh well theirs the sorrowfulness of it all but in the best of ways ways with words and lines forming such as "Take the valor from the brave,
And in dark, find lasting solace
In the emptiness within." Well done it was a interesting poem.

When we lose hope. When all is lost. What will we have left?
"And in dark, find lasting solace
In the emptiness within."
Hope is our last desire. A soldier desire to live is the hope of family and the possibility of home. Many strong statements in this short poem open the door open the door to great discussion. Thank you for a outstanding poem.
