Dionysus

Dionysus

A Poem by Bryan Micheni

Poetry's finesse, and culture's glaze
Hopelessness with helplessness, and resurrect my pain
Show the secrets kept within your head
Tell me all of everything,
And sate within words' nothingness...
Half-eaten chocolate box,
Lingerie mixed in with the socks
And keep vindictive hope alive
The picture-perfect hopeless bride
And guarded hearts and sharpened tongue
And still last breath within my lungs
And so the death begins.
Tie in my hope and your sins
And shatter normalcy
Conquer my freedom, then set free
Why can't I stand to hate you?
Illusion's disillusion,
Be my Bacchus, and to hades banish me...
This treasure-trove of love's captivity...

From the flow to the direction to the tone and the amplified power of the piece- this was amazing work!!

The words were all packed with meaning and i was sincerely blown away from the beginning to the end. The myriad of scenes and feeling you've woven into this was superb and raw. Banished to love? Well if it gets me writing this well...where can i find this treasure trove? :D

This was great stuff!!

And my first favorite from you to be shelved xD

Keep this up!!

I like the visions create by this amazing poem. Each line with a reason making the poem stronger. I like the myths. You will get my attention by using them in a poem. A very good ending to a excellent poem.

The imagery is strong in this poem. Words can say many things but actions prove otherwise. Good write man!
