DisillusionA Poem by Bryan MicheniThe sorrow that follows loss cannot be explained. But it is all consuming
Running under evening lights,
Blinding glare of disillusion. The day brought forth wanton brilliance, Bathing all in what we felt; But, alas, all feeling is naught In crucibles and trenches. Zephyrs are fit companions for the broken, And with loss, winds arose; One to two, two to tempest, Maelstroms flooding; storms afoot; And sunrise, with all serenity Remains all but broken in the gloom. Who am i to see the single Star in skies of smoke and thunder? And as such, counsel asks speak Homecomings and fond memories- Shadows have greater form. To state that love is never-ending Never took this to account; In your absence, in departure, Love was passed through alchemy, And all that remains is true nothing, And wish to never love again. © 2015 Bryan MicheniAuthor's Note
