AnubisA Poem by Bryan Micheni
And of these wizened proclamations
Of my wisdom, and my doom You would come to meet me hither, In your chambers, in your home... Try fill with fear and admiration With admonition of my fate And tell me that I've been chosen To be damned for kindred's sake. Threaten drag me to your Hades Taunt with tortures, with your tongue But for all your innuendo You shall see me unabashed. Anger, now, and show your power; Threaten, now, with all your might; Tell me rams are meant for slaughter And that you're just being polite. Stand up with your shouts of fury; Burn the skies until they're grey; Look upon this measly mortal As he scoffs at face of hell And now, Anubis, know your failure; Hell never had hold of him For no suffering can break A broken man. © 2012 Bryan MicheniAuthor's Note
