HearA Poem by Michelle RachelThis is my first actual poem, not a songThese things that have been happening, Not dangerous to anyone else, Just to herself.
She keeps saying she wouldn’t But the pressures of life won’t go away After a while, she welcomes the pain Like a long-forgotten gain
But what she can’t see, is the people on
the sidelines What she can’t hear, is their desperate
cries Them telling her to keep going, never
quit But then she thinks to herself, this is

Now I just want to make it all end Just leave all this pain behind I don’t have very many friends, At least none that would mind
Why does it seem that everything goes
wrong At exactly the right time They say this is my fight song But to me, it’s just a rhyme
They tell me never to stop, hold my
head high But they never hear me when I cry Out for help in the middle of the night Hoping that someone might
