Somebody

Somebody

A Poem by lost sock
"

Everybody is guilty of ignorance.

"

What's my name?
I know yours
Nobody bothers to learn mine

I take the less traveled path
It's easier to avoid contact that way
I won't have to face the cheerfulness

I know the floor better than anyone else
That is where my eyes stay
I walk, seeing but not acknowledging, quite like you

What color are my eyes?
You can't tell me, can you?
No one bothers to pay attention

I am alone constantly
I have no friends
You have twenty

You know who I am
Everyone does
No one bothers to get to know me

You've seen me around
You walk right past me
Why?

What did I do to keep you away?
What have yo got against me?
Am I just undeserving of your attention?

Someone, anyone, please
Look me in the eye
Say 'hello'

I long for a smile sent my way
Is that too much to ask?
That's all I really want

Don't ignore me
Don't walk on by
I'm human too

Loved this expression of desperately seeking a friendly smile poem. London is like this, no one looks at each other for fear of being mugged. Being a middle aged woman can feel like this too, as youthfulness fades, especially if like me, you were once beautiful, you feel invisible....but luckily for me I have a great arse and even better legs!lo! which are generally what folks look at....lol sorry to be so flippant, but middle age does that too! Thank you for sharing this lost sock. Take a big smile from Tai
