HunterA Poem by Michele Rae DeJeanThe hunter needs to kill to feed the familyHunter
lies hidden in the tall grass He
intensely watches wild turkeys searching for food The
smallest hen gets nervous and
looks around She
comes face to face with the predator stalking her He
comes leaping out of the grass Before
she can vocalize her fear he pounces upon her The
other turkeys let out shrill cries and fly off The
feathers from their fallen comrade flutter on the breeze The
large silver and white wolf trots off with the prize hanging from his mouth Back to
the den he goes and lays his kill on the ground in front of his mate She is
black and silver with large dark brown eyes She
gets their cubs out of the den and the wolf family starts sharing the kill The
family lives to eat another day © 2014 Michele Rae DeJeanReviews
