my dream

my dream is like a shooting star that i never get a wish on

No madder what i do i'll never be with you

i saw you walking down main street last friday

i wanted to say hey but i was afraid

then i heard some one call my name

i looked to see if it was u

when i got home that night i checked my answering machine

to see if u had called

but you didn't and thats ok

i went to sleep that night

i dreamed about you all night long

i didn't want to wake up because i was afraid that u would be gone

when i woke up i saw you sitting next to me i was glad that i wasn't dreaming anymore

For some reason I fell like this piece would be more powerful if it was formatted as a story instead of a poem.
