Upon Her Death

Upon Her Death

A Chapter by The Poetry of Michal (Mitak) Mahgerefteh
"

About the poem: in this poem I imagine Father at Mother's grave side...my father was a spiritual man, so I am using a few biblical and mystical refrences to the process of Death.

"

Upon Her Death

Father"like an old tear

under the noontime skies

sorrow sprouts from the soil

creeping like twined roots

as he recites Woman of Valor

a silent voice patiently hovers

awaits her unveiled essence

to be escorted on a Seat of Silk

Father, aware of the Flight of Time

slips beneath the surface of remembering
