The Realm of Muses

The Realm of Muses

A Poem by Michael X

Like
Dante and Beatrice, we drink from an ancient bottle sweet poetry,
the finest of priceless wines, to celebrate nine legendary muses
who bruise the hearts of poets with gently played harp music.

The heartfelt pain of
memories from a future life are streaming from the top of
my brain, all the way down to the tip of my forged tongue.
I am going to be a poet one of these days.

To drink from a sky of crystal that is so beautiful,
moonlight off the glass rim creates a flash of light
that is so sharp, the sparkle cuts the universe in half.

I see a man hiding in the bulrushes watching the poets that have enthralled him as they cajole, discuss and feast in poets-heaven making himself the vow to join them.
I got a kind of 'I'll show them...' vibe from our speaker.
Quite an eye-opener Michael X.

Gosh, Mike, I always enjoy your mystic type poetry but I've known for...darn 10 years...and you just better with time. I truly enjoy the subject matter. Great stuff.

Loved it! My favorite part was the last stanza. It was just so deep and so eloquently worded. And as far as the line "I am going to be a poet one of these days" goes: Sir you are already a magnificent poet. Keep up the great work and I am looking very much forward to reading and reviewing more of your great works.

Your friend,
Raysira :)

The last stanza:

"To drink from a sky of crystal that is so beautiful,
moonlight off the glass rim creates a flash of light
that is so sharp, the sparkle cuts the universe in half."
Just wow.

Love the imagery of this one. From start to finish.
