Blue Fields TownA Poem by Michael ThrowerAn Irish poem I wrote.Blue Fields town I was walkin’ round as I saw a man pass by A pipe clenched hard between his teeth I thought that man looked
fine So fancy was he with his pipe, his tilt hat and his coat I stepped downtown and bought my own and sure did I feel
nice Walkin’ round I clenched my pipe proudly between my teeth Brown hat tilted to the side my coat I wore so gleamed Then did I see a lady pass me by on to the street I looked back by my shoulder, her skirt did lift and see So did I try to sure get by, back across the road But stopped I was by a horse and buggy And
she was never seen I
ran into an old Irish pub and sat to have a drink To
dull the memories of a woman that I could never meet. © 2014 Michael ThrowerAuthor's Note
