Hate that's left a bruise.

Hate that's left a bruise.

A Poem by Michael Thrower
"

Oh, you know ;) Psh, poems.

"

Consider yourself warned,

You’ve spoken against truth.

One lie masked in blood,

Hate that’s left a bruise.

A speech to bring heart

To the men of your kind

Just to play a part

In what we know as time.

In darkness is light

So you say “Why should I?”

One who lives for truth

Should not consider lies.

“So it shall be written

And so it shall be done.”

Mockery at its best?

Or compliments we’ve won?

Speak against a nation,

Or speak against a kind.

Rid the world of scum,

Through music and a rhyme.

This poem is just what I needed to hear. I just lost a jury rape trial and my offender walked free. This poem summarizes much of how I feel and the words have such flow and feel so natural. Your thoughts are poured out in this piece and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Patriotism is the fine line drawn on BOTH sides of the fence.

What really caught my attention was the last line. Many times music is the only way you can speak the truth to someone and not get jailed for slander or shot . . . in all the arts, I think the power of music, like the power of writing, is incomprehensible. Nicely written, deeply profound--a good summation of the state of our planet

I'm seeing a scene. One one side a sharply dressed man, distinguished, smooth talking. On the other side a smaller man, dressed commonly, pointing at the wolf in sheep's clothing. He's trying to expose the silver tongued man's lies, but the crowd isn't listening. They are sheep, followers, too dumb to think on their own. A poem that calls us to think for ourselves and believe everything we hear.

Today, hypocrisy is becoming a lifestyle and because of it's very natural deviation, the world haven't even noticed it. Only those very few who come to notice it felt the decadence. Only those few who were able to read between the line understands and felt the bruises left by those who pretends and give hallow promises. I felt like getting involve today so took time to I review. This is not a simple write. These are fragments of a very serious deep thought rooted from the common illness of society.

This was an interesting read, I enjoyed it. The line: "In darkness is light" somewhat made me think of The Bible and religion. I like the different parts and the message that's brought out and promoted with this. Good job :)
