Michael, a rhetorical question in poetic verse. I think the answer is nothing. We own a mere speck of knowledge in this vast universe, which you've captured well here.

Thanks for taking the time to read and comment. Looking at the moon and stars has long made poets question our place and role in the universe. My poem may pose the question: "If the universe owes us nothing, do we owe it anything in return?"
