My goddess, my Aphrodite

My goddess, my Aphrodite

A Poem by Michael Osterhus
"

the first and only time I fell in love

"

My goddess, My Aphrodite,

to your gifted beauty I surrender.

Heavenly body, with the glowing crown,

you are the world-crushing black hole

slowly arcing across my sky.

How casually  your eyes collapse the temple of my mind,

resurrect my buried heart

and turn my blood into wine.

And how your lips beguile;

your innocent smile

is, on my mind, a screaming demon,

hot steaming madness bathing in the blood of feeble Reason.

I imagine your kiss, a violently soft invitation to roll around on dreams yet blossomed.
