Empty Voice

Empty Voice

A Poem by Michael Lopez
"

Sorry, I zoned out for a minute...

"

The piano plays...

As I can barley here my voice pave a way.

I ran with eternity...

All the way to the end.

But with no future...

I live in the past.

With my open arms...

I stray from the light.

While believing in you...

But you rarely ever belived in me.

Never ever being set free...

That I sit here with the truth.

Which leaves me nowhere.

With the fire as my only light...

Only to get burned by it.

When I touch it.

this was a cool poem. i have felt this same way from time to time. with no future you live in the past, that was so real to me. i understand this poem fully and think you wrote it as real and honest as it could ever get. nice write.

The thought of running with of eternity until it takes away your future is really powerful. You get a sense of someone who gambled with his heart and lost. It's very compelling and well written.
