Dream (Sadness)

Dream (Sadness)

A Poem by Michael Lopez
"

hoping never to wake....

"

As I sleep...

you seep into my mind.

With the perfumes...

of a forgotten past.

My goddess...

queen of my dreams.

With your luscious strands that drape.

Making my mind...

quiver to the thought.

With the forbidden happines...

that takes place as the morning breaks...

Is only having to live with...

the saddness as I wake.

There is something enchanting about this...like a love note
to a princess. The imagery is soothing, like a lullaby. In this stanza:

With the forbidden happines...

Something about this stanza didn't seem to flow well with
the rest of the poem...like happiness should be darker, something
more forbidden. AD

This is so sad but so beautiful all at the same time. It's beautiful to have such happiness in sleep, but the tragedy of having it not be real is one of the worst feelings, thank you for sharing.
