Outlander

A Poem by Michael Kikle
"

This is more of a poem I wrote in depression, after a break-up of a relationship I was in for three years. Relationships are what we're discussing here.

"

From over those mountains of complexities,

I stand alone, all alone.

I hear of the partings and the togetherness.

I wish for it, yet avoid it.

Society cannot stand with people like I,

For we question what we see and laugh to hide our cries.

And you, stuck in a tunnel of lovely burden,

Will never understand--nor oppose--my freedom.

Great Michael I did not even get to the end and the music was already streaming through my head so loud so clear that I had to put the track on and remind myself and the feeling expressed here is not only unfair and haunting it is incendiary at it creates a considerable amount of frustration that makes you want to scream as say it loud.

Sometimes standing for what you believe means standing alone do not let you hohor die then.

Thankyou

Wow I totally am feeling the emotion in this. I understand the pain you are going through because of my own experiences. Life is such a puzzling and frustrating thing sometimes and you definitely express that here. Great write. Can't wait to read more of your writing. And I know my profile picture might suggest otherwise, but I'll just state the fact that I am a young woman and not a guy. :)

That's the best kind of person to be, due to its rarity hahaha.

It is more rare. Which makes it that much harder to be understood in this world and age.

I can really relate to this poem Michael, I think you already know that though. Really well done, the way in which you describe the the "I" was something that I found unique and something that makes this writing special. I honestly mean this when I say that this poem will be something that sticks with me.
