Savitar's Flashback

Savitar's Flashback

A Story by Michael Gentry
"

In a crowded dance club, an omniscient god from the primal source has a flashback to when he wiped out an entire group of Arcadian Jaguars.

"
Flashing myself outside The Inferno*
The line to get into The Inferno stretches around the build, I walk up to Leo with a nod, and walk in, like I said "I don't wait in line." Once inside I see Dante has a table set for me, Catching the waitress I order the same single malt from the night before. Sliding into the booth waiting on my bottle and the band I can see just how full the club is, Dante should be happy with this turn out.

*Taking a drink* I have to think about the last band I saw live was, but for me, sometimes thinking about the past was a bad thing. I don't have to think about it long as I as the house lights start to dim, standing up I make my way up to the front, everyone instinctively moving out of my way.

Once the music starts, the rhythms pulsating through my being, I start moving with the crowd to the flow of the music, As one familiar song after another washes through me. I close my eyes and feel the music, letting it take me away as it floats over the crowd.

That's when the song starts, I don't relies what's happened until I'm already in the memory, the night with the Jaguars, I was done with their s**t and was going to put an end to it tonight.

*Standing outside the last camp* This was it, the last Arcadian Jaguars on the planet. I had blood dripping from my face, my body, and my sword. This was being handled with steel, I needed to send a message to all those f*****g Were's not to piss me off.

Quiet as the night I slip in, then snap a twig between my fingers so I can see the look of horror on the sentries face when my blade slices through his vocal cords and out the back of his neck. Pushing through his spinal cord with a sneer on my face then pulling the blade back to watch him body slump to the ground.

Sliding behind the next Were, I clamp my hand over his mouth and pull my stiletto across his throat, the arterial blood pumping out over me. The rage continues to build in me as I spot the next victim, I slam the heal of my palm up into his nose, the blood spraying across my face as the bone pierces his brain, and watch as the lifeless body falls before me.

The carnage I've left in my wake has done nothing but enrage me more, with only a handful of the Jaguars I change tactics, no more silent killing time to hear them scream. Walking up to the next Were I take my sword and slice across his stomach, spilling the intestines to the ground and laugh as he tries to put them back in.

The last three Arcadian Jaguars on the planet stood before me know, rage darkening their eyes, like I cared how pissed they where, they weren't going to be around long enough for me worry about anymore. Slamming my sword in the ground I pulled out matching daggers and walked into the fray.

As the first Were launches his self at me I catch him under the chin, the blade going through the roof of his mouth and out the top of his head, then coming around with the other hand and slamming the dagger through his ear and out the other side, forming a plus sign with blades.

Letting go of the daggers I duck under the next feeble attack, sliding behind the Were I reach over and snap his neck, then turn to face the last of the Arcadian Jaguar line. The blood of his race coating my body as I stared him down.

As the song ends I open my eyes to find there is a ten foot circle around me, completely empty. This is not a good sign, with the crowd tonight this should have been impossible, when I shut my eyes I was in a sea of bodies, now, f**k Dante's going to be pissed.

The only thing that saves me is, for this crowd, strange behavior is not that uncommon, but f**k I know and Dante knows. I need to leave quickly and figure out what the hell just happened. Making my way back through the crowd I *ml* Dante ~Sorry about that, I'll explain later.~ Breaking the link once I hit the door, I walk around the club to a dark corner I know is safe, and flash myself home.

Once I'm back on Neratiti, I know the only place to find answers when I'm looking is on the water. Flashing on my suit and board I make my way to the water and paddle out, only in the depths of the these waters would I find answers.
