Forgetful At A Glance.

Forgetful At A Glance.

A Poem by Michael

Lonely structures of islands isolated by buildings in content, hearts at an incline fallen before the bridges of words never meant. Instructions on how to believe when faith has fled from simple heights, mumble kindness to children who have placed interest in receiving tainted advice. Solemnly swear the last of dilemmas have been met, share the simple oblivious shouts of men with dreams of power and wealth. Obsessive concepts of skies with broken lands never wept, hostility towards gentle winds holding conviction under seas too far to be kept.
Release the sudden urge into a cloud of dread, mysterious winds playing hide and seek with the spread of white linen sheets on an old dusty bed. Confusion of the rivals that cower beneath the rivers, creating a blemish upon the grounds that were meant only for us. Lingering ponds with mixtures of both grey and black, keen to the sounds of memories faded with an unforgettable embrace which no man can resist. Both vile and humble they praise to a life never lived, only regrets remain kept under wraps of scars on an ever lonely heart that never weeps.
Withdraw the emotions as beams of light begin to cease, trapped in plain sight a forbidden love that sways gracefully as descendents have fallen in the turmoil of defeat. Inconsistent truths we speak in notes carved into the sand, in time we will reminisce on pondering thoughts a drift in the shores sunk beneath the concrete of a life we will never have. Promises of a better life. A handful of butterflies locked away within a jar, with broken wings we sing to enjoy the memories of a flight we should of had.
    Forgetful at a glance.
