Early Afternoon.A Poem by Michael
Trading smiles between subtle skies arched over the mistaken belief in early afternoons, opportunities of love has struck a familiar darkness in the day I thought I wouldn't see for awhile. The pleasant surprise of beauty has led to the destruction of their imagination, I have been waiting all of my life for this. To explore the views from your former coast, taken shores past the properties bewildered at such attempts to steal simple pleasures. Have we been lost beneath the rummage they bluntly speak in lies, when we were never stuck at all.
We should run if we could, past the walls they've surrounded our hearts. For now lets imagine the shadows of the day have fallen into rest, lay your heart next to mine for a while. let us be free from the night and drift away to sleep in a dream where you extend your heart for a chance at love, wake me up before you tend to pretend to see past this vision of the world burning bright from such a lovely smile. If I could promise the weight of these words will carry the sight of our lives through sarcastic remarks and the millions of polluted memories being brought to the surface despite of our love. In a seconds notice the pain of forever will be treasured only by the past but if you leave me, I'll always be here. By your side as a friend left behind to care for the remembrance of a thousand yesterdays, should you ever find yourself lost in sight of the beauty of life. I'll always wait here, to remind you that our love never ends. We never lost sight in the beauty of the world, it lost sight in us. © 2014 Michael |
