Dead Weight

Dead Weight

A Poem by MichaelG.

All these people,

They fail to see,

Ignoring reality face to face

Heading head first

For self destruction

Unless everyone can manage

To get their act together

Working against each other

is more common

Than working together

All their anger

Is fueling the hell we’ve created

In a place once ripe with fair chances

They’re changing the times

Trampling our progress

Qualities once praised

Are now unrecognized

And overlooked

All of them are blind

To the consequences of their actions

Careless, shameless, useless

They’re infecting the world

And pulling us down

Holding us back,

Nothing but dead weight.

Very dark, but honest. I think thosetypes of machinacions are often the best ones. It's my experience that not everything has to be all puppy dogs and rainbows, so to speak, because life is not all brillant and full of sparkles. Sometimes the truth is painful. Because those who created the truth were unkind to begin with. In that case, it's not spiteful or cruel to tell the truth. It just is. I like it.
