I didn't quite understand the poem at first read, but after a couple more reads, I understood it perfectly. You definitely know what you're writing about, and the depth of this poem goes down so deep. Lovely poem. Keep up the amazing pieces.
This poem...Took me several reads, but each one was worth it. The poet knows what he is writing about, and is aware that the reader may find something entirely different inthe depths of his words...
But I read this as disillusion.
"Told to me
in the library
of bargain heroes
full of lies."
You mention several different timepoints in a man's life, with this bleak recurring theme - Lies, disappointment.
Whatever your true intent, it's a fascinating piece i want to read again and again. Thanks for sharing it.
The problem with vagueness is we as authors KNOW what we were "about" but others have to guess from our cues and clues. Being from a different culture - even though its near it IS still grounded differently also adds to the difficulty of translating us so others may REALLY know of what we speak.
Intellect is not a prerequirement for listening. I took this work on several levels - personal existence, societal dictates, social opinions, and lastly tongue-in-cheek meandering. Each held a value to me BUT it was MY value and MY thoughts within my perception and its a shame I may have missed YOUR intent.
On the splendid streets of Toronto walks a man. He observes, he writes, he lives; a never-ending chronicle of his mind flooding from his hands onto paper. more..
