As The Blood Flows

As The Blood Flows

A Poem by Me

The less I know, the more I am.
The less I see, the more I grow.

An empty cup left lonely
in an invisible room;
a room created by the
humility experienced
by its builder.

Once upon a time
the cup held stars of amber;
golden lights that shone
for all the jungle
to be.

Lies have overwhelmed
and so it sits empty;
deserted in the forest of
mockers who have
lost touch with
living.

The less I am, the more I become.
The less I say, the more I absorb.

Perspective is often
a planet of dissection;
where rambling
words are celebrated
in the cities of
surrender.

In a thought, with
nothing but a gesture;
I smash the cup.
Its' shards of glass
slipping carelessly
into the veins
of thinking.

The less I become, the more I am.
The less I share, the more I arrive.

Can you taste the
medication
that is defining me?

Less is more.............or so they say. The less I say the more I absorb is the line that I kept going back to. I feel it is key to this entire wonderfully written piece.

Awesome.
Sometimes silence...quiteness...is the best thing. In our quiteness..stillness..our minds are allowed to grow. We are able to see and hear with our mind without speaking a word, sometimes we just need that.
If we put self out of the way, then the growth spiritaully can happen.
Not sure if I got this right, but this is what I came up with, lol
Thought provoking...deep

The less I am, the more I become.
The less I say, the more I absorb.

I really like this part, such a deep, emotional write. really like this I loved the ending.

I loved all the oxymoron's in this poem, they're perfectly set up. Each stanza had a certain sense of wisdom behind it, and I loved that fact. But it's not always the people who constantly think low of themselves that become more, it's not always the people who are silent that are the smartest. I loved this poem, it went deep. Keep up the great work!

A lot of wisdom in this poem. Those who listen to other and know that each life is part of of life flow. No-one less or more needed. Humility is a great word. Allow us to understand who and what we are. I like the question at the end of this poem. Thank you for a outstanding poem.
