I Ask For Nothing MoreA Poem by Michael W. FarrellyPoem for a certain woman....I ask for nothing more than all that that look promised so many months before when you removed those glasses. I dreamt of your jaw for a day or two Instinctually suspicous, but unaware Of all the bitter truths it clamped down tight upon.
I ask for nothing more than that you hold your haïr back and show the beauty of the girl becoming a child becoming a woman becoming mine. Your hair, like a veil covering shadows of a past that might now lay across a future undimmed in your eyes, burning in mine,
to live for, to kill for. Yes, I ask for nothing more than everything or nothing any more.© 2010 Michael W. Farrelly |
